BACK FROM SAN JOSE

Great news! AC and Dennis have just returned from their San Jose, CA recording trip. Here's AC's quick play-by-play:

Day 1: Arrive in San Jose, CA at 9 PM, grab some munchies, play a last-minute show at the delightfully cheesy Britannia Arms in Cupertino, sleep (a little)
Day 2: Get up, head to the recording studio, Den tracks drums til late for my record and SOC's record, I develop horrendous, deathly cough/cold, pass out
Day 3: Get up, Den tracks drums til late, head over to yummy BBQ with buddies, pass out
Day 4: Get up, go to San Francisco just because, hang out, head back to San Jose, pass out
Day 5: Get up, go to recording studio again to record bass tracks for my record with bassist extraordinaire, Keith Brinkley, pack up, drive home, arrive in LA at 1 AM. Whew...

In other exciting news, AC is now going to be a resident performer at the amazing Unurban Cafe in Santa Monica, CA which features many talented up and coming singer-songwriters! She will be playing every 4th Saturday of the month starting July 25th. Come out for some great music and great coffee!

THE SECOND ALBUM

Next week will be the first official record date for Alexx's 2nd album! AC and Dennis will be heading out to San Jose, CA to track drums for AC's solo project, and also for her other band / production team, Sound of Cancer. AC will be documenting the process, so keep checking back here and Myspace for updates!

In other exciting news, AC is officially heading to MA June 17th-21st to play some select dates with her band. These are rare east coast performances, so if you live in Boston, Providence, or any of those surrounding areas, come out and see some serious RAWK! Tickets can be purchased via AC's Myspace site (about midway down).

ALEXX SET TO PERFORM WITH P.A.C.E. AT VARIOUS LA COUNTY SCHOOLS!

Alexx will be performing all over LA County in the upcoming months with the P.A.C.E. (Promoting Academics Through Creative Expression) Program. P.A.C.E. is a non-profit organization that provides entertainment to children in inner city schools.

Created in 2006, P.A.C.E. brings educational music entertainment programs to LA County middle and senior high schools in order to promote the relevance and importance of graduating high school through the medium of live music. The ultimate goal is to reduce the dropout rate in LA County by encouraging participation in local creative outlets and by providing positive, educated role models for students contemplating dropping out. Due to California state budget cuts and No Child Left Behind mandates, LA County has maintained unacceptable dropout rates for the past 5 years. Through partnerships with local organizations and schools, P.A.C.E. has been able to perform in 24 Los Angeles Unified School District schools, which accounts for over 24,000 students. P.A.C.E. Program is designed to motivate students in the areas of improved classroom participation, higher academic achievement, increased participation in local creative outlets, educational and personal perseverance and character building.

Yesterday was AC's first show at George Washington Carver Middle School in L.A. AC and songwriting partner, Dennis Morehouse played to a packed auditorium of great kids, and shared the stage with some talented artists, including new friends, Dawone. AC is very excited to be part of such a great cause.

MORNING (AFTER) PILL NOW AVAILABLE; ALEXX IN STUDIO!

Alexx's highly anticipated 3-song collection, "Morning (After) Pill" is now available for download here and at Beta Records. The songs will also be made available to all major online music retailers in the upcoming months.

Alexx is also busy recording both her solo and Sound of Cancer EPs. You will be able to hear Sound of Cancer's epic "vampire love song" next week on their Myspace page. A video for the song will also follow. Stay tuned for more updates.

NEW MUSIC AVAILABLE THIS WEEK!

Alexx Calise will be releasing 3 new downloadable tracks this week after a long writing/recording hiatus! After wrapping her debut album, "Morning Pill" in 2007, AC immediately went back into the recording studio with producer, Luigie Gonzalez to work on some new material.

The "rawktronica" tunes that emerged will be included in the cleverly-titled "Morning (After) Pill" song trio, which will be available only for download on a variety of online music outlets. This is a pre-quel to Alexx's long awaiting EP, which will be released sometime this year, along with an EP of her other music project with Dennis Morehouse, Sound of Cancer.

Alexx's sophomore EP, which will re-visit her alt-grunge roots, promises to be more raw, heartfelt, and mature. Keep checking back for more AC and SOC album updates.

All good things come in threes! 

Alexx will be appearing in the upcoming Discovery Channel documentary, "The Science of Sex Appeal" on February 8th (9pm ET/PT 8pm CT). The documentary will reveal through a series of experiments why males and females find each other attractive.

Alexx was also just informed that she will be appearing in the Electro-Voice (EV) Microphones' catalog! You may remember the 1930's-era ad from AC's Myspace page.

Alexx's indie musician advice blog has been generating so much buzz that ASCAP recently asked AC to contribute to it's monthly Inside Music newsletter, which also runs in Playback magazine. AC's blog can be found here, on Myspace, and on L2Network's website.
